personhood bill dead in virginia. the mandatory forced ultrasound bill on the other hand passed a senate committee today and is moving forward. there wasn't a vote on it in the full senate today. now that the whole nation is sort of awake to the horror of state ordered vaginal probing which was in the original bill that bob mcdonnell said he would originally sign, i wonder if it is sinking into virginia senate republicans that state probing of any kind vaginal or otherwise is seen by americans as legislators playing doctor. as this resonates from a hearing room to a state legislature to a governor who really, really, really wants to be vice president, to the national stage, republican political chaos on the issue of abortion and contraception and what they supposedly think of as limited government, republican political chaos on this issue is spreading. >> obama care, which is the biggest issue in this case of government control of your lives. >> you move toward tyranny because the government has the power of force. >>

six tornados touched down and that is possible southwestern virginia gets clipped. the north carolina area. d.c. protected from the severity of the storms and the damaging winds and hail and rotation. the temperatures have stay on the cool side and in the red wear, these are tornado watches and that is our flood watch and beyond that, nothing touched down outside of kentucky the last few hours and much of the metro area is not -- and there is some more rain to come. and it's not budged. see the cool wedge to the north with hagerstown at 41 and frederick, 43 and fredericksburg, up to 58 degrees and firing up the storms is in the heat and with raleigh at raleigh at 69 and the wedge made its known in the d.c. area and we have to be grateful. it's going to protect us. you ready for warm temperatures? how about tomorrow and the only thing you might not like about thursday, a gusty wind out of the west at 15 to 25 miles an hour most of the day is dry and rain in the afternoon with a better chance of seeing rain. the temperatures into the mid- 60s, the showers and thunders

charleston, west virginia, 64 there. some of that mild air may make its way in here by later this afternoon. looks like much of the metro area is only going to warm to about 50 degrees or so. just to our south it may make it up to 60 in southern maryland. fredericksburg over to culpeper. that would be later this afternoon after this rain bates. here is the wider view. you can see this break in the rain where you see the color here. this is the rain. then there sbrak over the shenandoah valley, west virginia. there is another shot of rain and stretches farther south and west. right along the ohio river valley. that will likely move in later this afternoon. going forward, over the next 48 hours, this is our break coming through here during the afternoon hours. then another shot of rain likely coming in. maybe with some thunder and lightning. between about 7:00 p.m. and midnight. after that we will clear out. rain ending and we will have beautiful weather moving in on thursday. big change tomorrow. with on warmup on the way

the winter storm watch is for southern portions of virginia and portions of west virginia, including the shenandoah valley. yeah, where are we going? right now it's 50. we're forecasting 58 for tomorrow. saturday, beautiful. and maybe some snow on sunday. so yeah, mother nature all turned around here. winds out of the north-northwest at 9 miles per hour. what are we seeing temperature wise? it's a nice, mild area, 53 in fredericksburg and 49 near pax river. we are watching a storm system and it's down to the south. there's two storms trying to come together and it's how they're going to come together that's really going to allow us to see some snow or allow most of the snow to stay to our south and i think that's what the scenario is going to be. we have a live chat going on between 5:00 and 6:00. we're talking about going through 7:00 tonight about sunday's snow and we're trying to get to all of those questions. my forecast is coming up in a minute. >> thanks, doug. >>> bless her heart, a little 2-year-old girl is fighting for her life after a fire ripped through her home in marylan
